Our Bottle conditioned Ales
All of our beers are hand bottled by us in the Brewery.
Our beers are bottle conditioned, this means a secondry fermentation has taken place in the bottle, this gives a creamier mouthfeel as opposed to "fizzy", and also adds to shelf life.
Most breweries send away their beer to bottling companies, set up to filter, pasteurise and carbonate beer, the issue with this is that often their Min quantity is 1000L, giving almost 2000 bottles of each beer, As we bottle all our beers in house we are able to bottle in small batches, often around just 80 bottles of each beer, this ensures freshness.
Secondary fermentation in the bottle will cause a small amount of sediment.
The best way to serve your bottled conditioned ale is to store upright in a cool place, this will help solidify the sediment, always pour gently and discard the last of the pour which might carry some sediment.
